Service Families

At Alverstoke Infant School we offer additional support for children whose parents are in the armed forces as we recognise that their school experience can be different from their civilian peers. Families can be posted several times over a child’s school life and this can mean a massive change for the child and family. Children can be affected when a parent is deployed for a length of time.

In order to support families and children Mrs McEwan is available to help with any anxieties or questions. She runs a Service club that is held half-termly and offers a range of fun activities and a chance for children to be together with other children with the same life experiences as themselves. She may also run parent coffee meetings so parents can socialise and share any information or ask questions.
